William James Edwards “Bill” Lee is a bassist, composer and conductor. He has played for Harry Belafonte, Aretha Franklin and Bob Dylan to name a few. He is the father of film director Spike Lee, actress Joie Lee, and Cinque Lee. As conductor he has written and composed the score for many of his son, Spike Lee’s films, including She’s Gotta Have It, School Daze, Do The Right Thing and Mo Better Blues. I’ve been bangin’ Mr. Lee’s music while I work for about a year now. His music has sparked a lot of imagery and scenes for the story I’ve been working on. Very inspirational stuff.
